Admission Policy

Objective

To maintain a transparent, fair, and efficient admission process that gives priority to early applicants while strictly following all government rules and guidelines.

Scope

This policy applies to all undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered at D. G. Tatkare Arts and Commerce College, Tala, Raigad, Maharashtra.

Policy Statement

Admissions at our college will be carried out on a first-come, first-served basis. Students applying early will be given preference, provided they meet the eligibility criteria and submit all required documents as per the rules of the college and government authorities.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must meet the minimum academic requirements set for their chosen program.

  • Government reservations and quotas (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Physically Challenged, etc.) will be strictly followed during admissions.


Application Process

  1. Application Submission – Admissions will begin on the announced date. Students are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

  2. Document Verification – Required documents such as mark sheets, ID proof, and reservation certificates must be submitted for verification.

  3. Fee Payment – After verification and approval, students must pay the admission fees within the given time to confirm their seat.


Adherence to Government Policies

  • Reservation Quotas – Seats will be allotted as per government reservation rules.

  • Regulatory Guidelines – The process will fully comply with the guidelines of the University of Mumbai, the Government of Maharashtra, and other concerned authorities.


Waitlist and Late Admissions

  • Waitlist – If applications exceed available seats, a waitlist will be prepared. Students on the list will be admitted in order of application if seats become available.

  • Late Admissions – Students applying late will be considered only if seats remain vacant, subject to government rules and college approval.


Communication of Admission Decisions

All admission updates and decisions will be sent to students on their registered email or phone number. Selected students will also receive instructions to complete the process.


Appeals and Grievances

  • Students who feel their admission has been unfairly denied may file an appeal in writing within 7 days of the admission decision.

  • The Admission Committee will review the appeal as per college rules and government policies.


Review of Policy

The admission policy will be reviewed every year and updated as per changes in government regulations and college requirements.
