About D.G. Tatkare Arts and Commerce College

G. Tatkare Arts and Commerce College, Tala, Raigad* was established with the vision of making higher education accessible to the youth of Tala taluka and the surrounding hilly region. Tala taluka was created on 26 June 1999, and as the area developed, the need for quality education also became essential. Earlier, students had to travel long distances for higher studies, which caused many difficulties. To address this, the institution took the initiative to start a senior college in Tala.With the special efforts of Hon. Shri Sunil Tatkare (Minister of Water Resources, Maharashtra State), the college received Government and University recognition in 2001 for the Arts faculty, and later in 2003 for the Commerce faculty*. Since then, the college has been growing steadily, offering a wide range of academic opportunities to students from rural and semi-urban backgrounds. At present, the college conducts undergraduate programs in B.A. (Arts) and B.Com. (Commerce), postgraduate programs in M.A. (Political Science) and M.Com. (Advanced Accountancy), and also hosts a recognized Ph.D. Research Centre in Political Science These programs provide students with both academic knowledge and practical skills required for their professional careers. The college also provides excellent facilities for its students. A modern Computer Centre offers training in professional and skill-based courses, while the Library, rich in resources and fully automated, supports research and learning. To prepare students for global opportunities, the college also runs foreign language training in French, Spanish, and German. Through these programs and facilities, the college remains committed to nurturing knowledge, skills, and values among students. Along with academic excellence, we focus on personality development, social responsibility, and preparing students to become confident, responsible, and contributing members of society.
