College - History

D.G.Tatkare Arts and Commerce College is a leading college affiliated to Mumbai University. It was established in 2001 by Tale Vibhag Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Tale trust with a number of academic institutions, under its umbrella. In 2001 only Art faculty was stared in senior college. In 2003, Commerce faculty was started in senior college to fulfill the higher educational needs of the students. The opportunities of the jobs and business in the metropolitan cities like Mumbai and Pune were at the centre of the thought while starting Commerce faculty.

Although the College started by focusing on education to make students self-reliant and to prepare them for careers in various field, it gradually extended the scope of its activities to include the molding of the overall personality of the students. With greater competition in every walk of life it has become a necessity to prepare students to shine in all areas.

The College has earned laurels in the field of academics, as well as in extra and co-curricular activities. College has a long list of distinguished alumni.

College have represented at the State Level and National Level and have won many trophies and championships.

College have been running add on courses in computer from 2009.From academic year 2013-2014 College has got permission from State Government to start Post graduate courses of Master of Commerce (M.Com) and Master of Art (Political Science )
